I need to install an anchor bolt for a tether strap in my newly purchased 87 740 GLE wagon. Has anyone done this job? What is the exact location where you drilled the hole? Anything I should watch out for? I'm thinking the car seat will go on in the middle or on the 60 side of the 40/60 split back seat.

    Sorry to have no knowledge on the 700, but I just did this on the 850. Bone easy, and the three existing threaded holes are on the back of the seat corresponding with three passenger locations. Just pop out the plug install tie down with thick washer and Nylock patched bolt.

    My point is when I bought all three parts from the Volvo dealer for a total of $3.29, they had complete knowledge for my year and location. Call the dealer, it's the law for them to know this.

    The seat should have come with instructions describing this.

    Check if they anchor points already exist (they are pre-installed in the Australian market)
