burning oil on cold start 900

it's starting to scare me a little

it just started and it's getting worse every week

on a cold start if i move the car a cloud of oil blows out

i talked to a friend who told me it might be the valve stem seals

should i take it in and get them replaced?
if it gets worse i feel i might have to sell the car
i don't want an oil burner, i bought the car so it wouldnt do things like this

If you can remove the in and out pipes for the turbo to see if there is oil on the walls of this pipes, if in the one between the throttle valve and the turbo, then the turbo is leaking.

a little more info on the subject: (i think)

the turbo makes a real good hissing noise when i get into the boost
and when i get into the boost pretty hard, the car blows alot of smoke out the back

i figured the noise i was hearing was just a hose leak, it seems obvious to me now that these two occurances are related.

would a hose leak cause the oil problem?

Burning oil on a cold start is often caused by failing oil stem seals. But your car is a little for this. Try cleaning your flame trap and oil breather box before you have the stem seals replaced: that might have something to do with excess oil in the intake system.
