tail light/brake light 700 1988

The dashboard bulb out light is on even though I already replaced the bad brake light on the rear left side. I also replaced the good one on the other side, just in case, but the light remains on. Also, the brake light in the middle of the tailgate window is on whenver the lights are on. Should this only light when the brake pedal is depressed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I am very new at this, I am having problems with no brake lights but when we were testing the lights we ran hot wire from battary to center light all three brake lights lit up. where I think your problem is one of your parking/brake wires are crossed that is the parking is on the brake side and the wire for the brake is on the parking side then feeding it to your center light. (that is a novis's guess)
Hope that helps

hi
That bulb out sensor is a little bit to sensitive
when i changed one of the headlights it came on because the two head light werent from the same company
after i switched again (same make) it was fine
i also got the same problem as you
it should only come on if you step on the brake pedal
but if the 3 brakelights are not the same make (i dont even think they are the same typ) it might come on
so try a few bulbs for the top brakelight or get used to the bulb out light

Yes, that brake light on top above the rear passenger seats should only come on when depressing the brake, no matter if the headlights are on or not.
