how to remove the old amp? 200

Finally installing the new Pioneer CD player in my '92 245. Pulled the old cassette deck out from upper dash location, no problem. But the old amp - parked behind the lower console storage box - defies removal. I just can't see how it's bolted in! Any suggestions?

You have to take apart the console to get it out. It's stuck to the back of the junk box as you know, but it's much easier to get the box out of the dash and remove it that way. I can't remember how those come apart myself, except that I have previously had success doing it as I was saying. It takes maybe 15 minutes to remove.

Thanks, Chris. I finally figured out that removing the front of the console gave sufficient access, and now my car is about 3 pounds lighter... not to mention that with the Pioneer CD player it sounds a lot better, too.

Thanks for the prompt reply!
