Hi all,

I keep burning out bulbs on my tailights and actually got a ticket for it last week. To make matters worse after fixing it and finding a policeman so that I could show him my handywork I almost got another ticket since now the opposite brake light is out!

My bulb sensor has been acting crazy for a year so I've learned to ignore it but I think that it has finally come time to replace the tail light assembly.

Question, where can I get the best deal and do they include the circuit film?

Junkyards seem to be a waste since the light assemblies I've found are in worse shape than mine!

It very possible that you have water accumulated inside the lens, and when the hot bulb hits the cold water, the bulb brakes/goes out (just one scenario, as with my car). The remedy I chose for that was to remove the lens, literally run it under the bath faucet and wash out the sewage in there and then drill a small hole in the bottom (not visible) to drain future liquid.



But, if that is unacceptable, I have seen taillights on eBay for decent prices, as well as the circuit board. Some other sites that sell them are:

They sell the circuit film separately for about $20 if you want to go that route. sounds like a great deal. at least, they have it for my '87.

I bought the whole taillight assembly from them a few years ago for half the price of one from the dealer. they sent it fast, too. no shipping charges then but I think that's changed.

they have new aftermarket parts and used parts. Mine was new.

but I now have trouble getting one bulb to stay in place and stay lit -- a hole has been worn through the film, so I plan to order the circuit sheet.
