Hi,

I'm at that point where I'll have to start replacing most of the rubber under my car and I'd like to use polyurethane or even better, graphite impregnated polyurethane bushings. Some of the manufacturers making the graphite impregnated bushings don't list parts for Volvos but I would suspect that a number of the parts they make for other cars would fit the Volvo. To find out if this is true I would just need to know the dimensions of the various Volvo bushings or the model numbers of other third party bushings so I can cross-reference the part numbers to these other manufacturers. To this end I'm wondering if someone can point me to a web page where I can find out either:

what manufacturers bushings (i.e. part numbers) can be used for what bushing in the Volvo; or
the dimensions of the various volvo 240 suspension bushings (i.e. length, ID, OD, etc).

Failing the above, can someone point me to some polyeurethane bushing suppliers that sell parts for Volvos so I can do a little price checking ?

are you sure you want to move to poly bushings ? new rubber ones are cheaper, quieter, and will probably outlast the rest of the car. my mechanic is one of the top rated volvo guys in the world, and a hot rodder, and he's steered me away from poly bushings after having some very disapointing results with them.
the harder the bushing, the harder the shock that's transfered to your car and suspension pieces.

They're not the cheapest out there, but they support Volvo owners quite well and put a lot of time into quality upgrades for turbo and normally aspirated bricks. Supposedly they make one of the better fitting rear trailing arm bushings out there for the 240s (all sorts of horror stories have been posted to the s'bricks mailing list about what the competition offers). The RTA bushings being one of the larger, more significant, and most tedious to remove/press in. I haven't worked up the courage to redo the bushings on my brick yet.
