'91 240SE, 124k, for $4200, good deal?

I haven't seen the car except for driving by it a couple of times. At least the paint on the driver's side is in good shape :).

But this is an SE, so it's loaded (leather, ABS, pw, alloy wheels, etc).

The condition in the add is listed as "good." If the car really is in "good" condition, would you consider paying 4k for the car?

I've tried to search, but I couldn't find any discussions on relative quality of the SE--I beleive they have the same engine as the DL, right?

Are these cars relatively rare?

Many thanks for any advice, opinions, etc. that you might offer!

Milan

All those 240s had the same engine.

I guess the SE is pretty rare, I don't see too many of them, but I wouldn't let that increase the price on you. There are plenty of great 90-93 240s out there that are loaded, and are not SE's. The only thing you would be missing are the wheels.

If it's really in good shape, and has records, and checks out, I would probably offer a max $4000. Even that seems a tad high. Also depends where you live. Where are you from?

Very rare. I have seen two, in addition to ours. The red one with black interior is striking while the white is less so. It is a 245, right? Has the minimal black cargo rails and it is basically a GL trim car but like the DL, very reliable and refined by '91. If it is clean and maintained it is worth a lot more than $4000.

It is indeed a 245 and has the rails you mention. It may be missing one of them, but I'll have to verify that.

It is red w/black interior. I very much like the body style of the '91 245.

Thanks for the response. I guess a lot will depend on what the (current) PO has done to maintain it, which I suppose is pretty much the same as any other 245.

I only hope I can keep from looking too excited when I talk to him.
