Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has replaced the V6 in their car with something else.
I remember reading a post by someone who had replaced his V6 with a V8 from a Mustang. What other options are there? What are some of the things I'd need to take into consideration? How much work is involved? Is it a straight drop in or would some things (Transmission, Engine Mounts, Emission Control, etc.) have to be modified?

You can swap in the B-230 as long as you get the proper drive shaft, trans mounts etc. Make it a much better car.

I don't know much about the v6's. I do know that you could definitely swap in a turbo motor for less than a v8. A lot of guys have done this kind of swap. Take a look on the web. I know you'll need plenty of parts that will cost (depending on the engine) plenty of money. The computer setup needs to be taken from the donor car, etc. Its a lot of work, and small things would have to be tweaked. If you plan on doing it yourself, but are asking the questions you've asked, I'd say you're not ready for the job. If you are having a mechanic do it, ask him questions and see what he thinks.
