The grills should just pop off. Slide a puddy knife under the plastic and pop it off.

I replaced my speakers recenlty and took the time to drill out the rivets, etc. on the drivers side and then mounted a new speaker to the door panel. Worked okay. I then too the Volvo cover, drilled a hole in each cover and screwed the original cover back on for a factory look to not attract theives.

On the passenger side, I was getting ready to drill out the plastic mount but ended up mounting the new speaker right onto the Volvo plastic mount. Then I was able to snap the factory cover right back on.

Seems to work okay. Sound quality is improved with new speakers but still not what I would like for my wagon. Getting ready to rip everything out and have a new system installed with better and bigger speakers, etc.

If they're like mine, they just pop off. However, in order to replace the speakers you have to remove the door panels and somehow remove the rivet heads. I used a dremmel and a grinder. That worked pretty good.

Good luck

Lawrence
