I need a cheap alternative to dealer prices for a 1979 Volvo 240 exterior weather stripping for driver and passenger front doors. Any help out there?

    On of mine had cracked quite badly so, as a temporary bodge, I masked it off and carefully smeared some black silicon sealant over it. Doesn't look too bad and, me beibng me, have been completely lazy and left it for nearly 2 years and it still looks ok.

    Hey Londe,
    Check out the pic of my '87 in the gallery. I replaced all of the moldings on it with stick on rubber moldings. It gives the car a sportier look I think. It costs about 25.00 for a roll as opposed to 100.00 or so for a replacement for one door. Be sure to center it over the holes in the side to keep water out. Later, Paul

      I just get mine from junkyards. They often have 1980s and
      1990s 240s and the weather stripping just comes out and pops
      in without too much fuss. I pulled 1990 weather stripping
      from a 240 and put it into my 1968 144 and it fit perfectly.
      I think the yard charged me about $5 for the whole car's worth.
      Just be careful not to tear it.
