Hello fellow Brick Owners:

A couple of us in the Dallas\Ft Worth Texas are interested in starting a new Volvo Club. The purpose of this post is to solicit input to see if enough individuals are interested in meeting on a regular basis to make this club work. Discussions amongst us have not yielded any concrete guidelines about the final character of the club. They have, however, created an informal picture of what we would like the club to be for those involved. Here they are:

1. Primary focus of this new Volvo Club would be 700\900 series Volvos.
However, anyone who owns a brick would be warmly welcomed.
2. Informal meetings would be the norm.
3. Meetings would focus on sharing maintenance and repair information.
4. Meetings would be held at local eating establishments so we could enjoy
good food as well as good company.

In an attempt to get the ball rolling, a “Get To Know Your Neighbor” meeting will be held on Monday April 8th at the Sonic Drive-In located at the intersection of Plano Rd. and Kingsley Rd (Lake Highlands area) in Dallas. Those interested in attending should arrive between 6:30 and 7:00 PM.

Please respond to this post with your thoughts regarding the formation of this new Volvo Club in the Dallas, TX area.

Looks like a weekend meeting/gathering would be better for most. Just keep
posting and we will plan accordingly.Hopefully we will have more than two
for the first one...

It is about a 6 hour drive for me so daytime meetings would be a lot
easier. I could perhaps find lodging in the DFW area....

Also mine are considerably older - 1966 - 1973

Morning meet could be arranged for you and maybe one day when we have
a bigger group we could drive up north to visit you..We just hope to be
able to gather a few bricksters on the 8th so we could get the ball rolling.

Great idea. Wish you were a little south of the DFW area so folks could migrate north a bit without going into the BIG city. I believe that one of these style get togethers would be more successful than the big meets.

Try to make Wimberely if possible. The area is super for scenery and should be a good time. We want to make an overnight.

Wimberly sounds like fun!
I haven't been that way in a LONG time (used to live in San Antonio
and chased Bluegrass over southeast Texas).
I c'n bring the pad in the back of the wagon.
