intermittent no start 700 1990

I have a 90 740 GL (8V, Non turbo) that on occasion, when the car has been running and has been turned off for a few minutes, refuses to start for 5-30 minutes. It'll crank just fine and it has been very intermittent but lately seems to be showing off more. The problem seems to be no spark. Twice now when the problem has presented itself, I've been able to pull the first plug wire and check. Warmer temperatures seem to aggrivate the situation.
Any similar experiences or theories where I should investigate first?
Thanks in advance.

-Brent

I had the same problem with my 89Turbo Wagon. Occurances seemed to be around 78 degrees f. The fuel injector relay located high behind the passengers left kick panel was the culprit. It appeared to be a spark problem, but with fuel injection no power no fuel. Jim

It is probably a bad RPM sensor, which is mounted to the engine in a recess in the bell housing just under the distributor. The original RPM sensors were colored coded yellow. The upgraded ones are color coded white.
