I will try to describe the problem as best I can. When evever I depress the brake pedal, I feel a "pop" in the pedal itself; it does not occur when I initially press it, only when I start to feel the brakes start to grab. The pop does not affect the car itself, only the pedal. I tried the lubricate the pedal, but this had no effect on the problem. Is it time to replace the booster or master cylinder (or both). The pedal is a little softer than I like. Thanks for the help; sorry I could not be more descriptive.

    Check your control arm bushings for wear. Cheap 'n easy to replace.

      It better not be control arm bushings....I just replaced them!!

          Mine does it too. Have not decided if it is pads moving in caliper, or antilock system ghosts. Actually, I'm not worrying about it; when I check pads I'll see if they are loose and wearing properly.

    Don't feel alone! Mine does that too. I think it's just the worn out plastic bushings on the top shaft. You COULD replace them, but I wouldn't bother.
