Oil for Turbos 900 1991

Hello,

I just bought my first turbo and was wondering if there was a better type of motor oil to use in it to help both the engine and the turbo? It's a 940.

Thanks,
Bridget

Synthetic is far better for turbos. I used AMSOIL 10W-30, then switched to AMSOIL 0w-30 when it became available.
Mobil 1 is very good, some of the other "synthetics" are not as good, but all are better than non-synthetic,.

Use nothing less than Mobil 1, Amsoil or Redline.

Aside from good oil do not forget a good filter. Mann/Volvo, NAPA Gold, Wix.

Yes, most people here will recommend full synthetic. I made the switch when I acquired my 740T. Amsoil (As mentioned before) and Mobil1 are popular brands, though somewhat expensive.

Best of luck with your Turbo.

Use synthetic 5W30 or 10W30. I use Amsoil in mine. I'm sure plenty of others will share their opinion on this including what brand they like. Synthetic is definitely good for the turbo because of its thermal properties.
