I can no longer easily justify carrying both my 87 740GLE and the "new" 93 945. I am seriously now, considering putting the sedan up for sale. Tons of new stuff incl; A/C, radiator, pump, battery, ALT, Struts, Cat, ball joints etc. Paint (white) is in very good condition. Only real problems are a ripped driver seat bottom (red leather), no FM and parking brake cable is gone. Up until last May this WAS the family car so all necessary repairs have been done.
Any estimates as to what it is worth?
Oh yes 187K, NO leaks, burns <1/2Qt every 4K (oil change interval), 30 MPG highway, 22 city.
Why am I getting rid of this car, I ask myself since I actually much prefer this car to the wagon? Reason; rest of family disagrees.

PS 65K on new ZF trans (bought from PO with blown ZF, like it better than the sloppy one in the wagon), oil changed every year.

The original parking brake cables are no longer available from the Volvo parts counter, but the improved parking brake cables and all hardware is available for a price($120 US several years ago). If you would like original, used, parking brake cables for your car, I will sell them to you for the cost of shipping.

You are probably correct. However the logistics and economics (not a DIYS'fer) of carrying 3 cars for 2 drivers in Westchester Co. dictate, or at least suggest, that some action be taken. The car has performed extremely well over the years, perhaps I could hold on to it for a while longer, now that you mention it.
I'll give it some thought.

I know of a similar 86 for sale, velour interior, non-functional sunroof, for $2295. But it is a strong runner and a tight car.
