Distributor compatibility 200

Hello, I was wondering if it is ok to use a newer 240 distributor from the B230 engine in my 83 with a b23. I know the connectors are not the same, but there are still three wires going into both distributors. The reason I am asking is because I can't seem to find one at a junkyard (bosch style) with the round connector.

My understanding is that it'll work fine as long as it's for the same Chrysler
ignition system. As you noticed you'll have to match up the wires but they
both use a three wire hall effect sensor. I don't know which wire is which but
they may be color coded the same on each distributor.
