Can you put a B230 into a P1800? 1800

Is it possible to put a B230 into a P1800?

Why? 1800

A stock 1800e (B20E, 130hp) is more powerful than any B230F. In fact, I believe that even the venerable B18B has a slightly higher output than the B230F.

It's possible...but not worth the effort.

A friend of mine put a Chrysler Hemi into a 53 Stude, replacing
a small 6. That convinced me that you can probably put about anything
into anything if you are willing to dream enough and make enough
collateral modifications. Speaking of collateral, I WOULDN'T borrow
money either to do the job or against the car.

Yes, with some work and money and creativity.

I have seen a B-21 installed in an 1800. Check the VSA web site. The guys name is Dirk; don't remember if that is his first or last name. From talking with him, it was alot of work to install it. I believe a B-230 would be even more work due to the location of the distributor.

Frank Dirk has a web site @ eurosporttuning or some such. His car has a b23E.
The pale blue car with the b21A is owned by a fellow whose name escapes me tonight, who was leader of the 1800 club for a long while.
Http://www.kgtrimning.com have a picture of a 544 race car with a b230. The 240 engines had block mounted distributors.
Http://www.projectvolvo.com and http://www.project242.com have pictures of such swaps.

The poster who claimed that the engines do not have a power advantage is incorrect. That appearance exists only because Volvo switched from misleading gross Hp, to net HP, in '73.
