740 Engine hesitation and stalling 700

Last night as I entered a right turn unto the highway I had a slight hesitation.I drove home some 20 miles without any further hesitation.
Today as I approach a stop the car would approach a stall and would probably have stalled were it not for the fact that I went to "N" and applied a bit of throttle to prevent it from stalling.Pulling into my driveway it did stall completely. Another interesting thing is it seems to want to stall only in a right turn and also when coming to a stop.My tank was indicating 1/4 full and I have driven the car that way before without problems.A year ago I Changed the Fuel pump and couple weeks ago the rubber gasket around the pump assy.I have no
problem startig the car....any ideas anyone?

We have an '88 745 GLE that hesitates a little when the fuel is under 1/4 of a tank. We don't let it go that low very often and do not worry about it.
The car is properly maintained and has a recent fuel filter, gas milage 27 or so. I suspect a bit of fuel pick-up trouble.

Al
Thanks for your response. My sisters Altima had similar problem and it turned out to be the fuel filter being very dirty. So I thought about fuel starvation...and
why only in a right turn and when stopping? So I went back to basics first and that involved filling the tank with gas and guess what? (Im keeping my fingers crossed on this one) The problem went away...AS it turned out my gas gauge seems to be hanging up and "stuck " at 1/4 tank. and even though the low light indicator did not come on I guess there wasnt enough fuel to support engine operation while stopping and turning!!! I now think my fuel quantity indicator
is out of calibration! Thats it I hope ...we will see what happens tomorrow
and thanks again.

Just went through the same thing for the last two months. It slowly got worse as time went on. I changed the FI relay it cleared up for a week then started again. Ended up being my AMM was going bad. But before you panic over the AMM
Check the hoses going to and from the Turbo. I'm talking the one on the intake
of the turbo first. If you have a loose hose coming in it will give you the same problems. I had a loose hose, (popped off but laying against opening on turbo) even though some air is passing through the AMM some fresh air was by passing the AMM. I got full boost and it ran OK above 3000 rpm but got the same problems as you have at idle and low speed. 1 check hoses, 2check FI solinoid, 3check AMM.
