Faulty gauges 700

Currently my speedometer and tachometer are only accurate until about the 9 o'clock postion. After 2k rpm or 45 km/h the needles just stay in the same position, as the car exceeds these values. I am also aware that the fuel gauge is not giving any reading (seems to be a gauge problem rather than the tank sensor, although the whole fuel sender unit was recently replaced).
I had assumed that I was facing a simple grounding problem, but the since the gauges are initally accurate does that suggest something more sinister?

P.S. I was wondering if anyone was aware of the existance of any speedometer face plates, compatible with my speedometer, that primarly read km/h with a secondary mi/h display. (I often find myself doing simple math calculations rather than concentrating on the road when I am driving in the states).

Thank you in advance,
Joe

Faulty gauges 700

I would be looking at two possable causes. First I would make sure there is a good ground to the instrument cluster, this problem sounds like a faulty, loose, or open ground. The second problem could be the instument cluster regulator which provides a constant low voltage to the gauges, this would be an unusual problem but possable.
