OBD on a '89 765T 700 1989

According to the 7xx/9xx FAQ, I should have an OBD box somewhere "behind the driver's side strut tower in the engine compartment". I have looked at the driver's side strut tower and I see the master cylinder, the anti lock brake controller, a couple of 40a fuses, and a small rounded at one end black box that is below the MC, and slightly under the intercooler intake hose. It's a bit difficult to get to, so I'm not sure if that is indeed what I should be looking for, or if I am in the right area at all. Anyone who can point me in the right direction will gain some good karma, and my eternal gratitude.
Thanks!
-Eric

The North American Market turbo cars still used LH 2.2 Jetronic in 1989 which does not have OBD. The 1990 North American Market turbo cars have LH 2.4 Jetronic which has OBD.

On one hand, I'm happy to know I'm not blind, on the other I would've liked to have been able to use the diagnostic tools.

Oh well.

Thanks!

Don't be disappointed. If you had the LH 2.4 with OBD, you would need the OBD more. The first two or three years production of the LH 2.4 Jetronic suffered from ECU failures. The LH 2.2 on your car is much more reliable.
