Ignition cylinder! 900 1994

Hey guys,
my friend stop by for mother's day and his 940 is stuck on my house because the key cylinder wont turn for nothing. It's the key cylinder that is stuck and not the electric portion( I have removed that already). I need to know what position the key needs to be before the pin-size hole above the cylinder lines up. The next option is to just drill the darn thing out. I need some ideas before a start this hole thing up tomorrow.

I am sure you already checked that the steering wheel is not turned against the lock that would make the key not turn.
Did you try another key. Mine is wearing out and the lock becomes tricky. Pulled a little used key from a drawer and that works just fine.

I have heard that drilling out the lock mechanism is tedious and hard work. The hardend steel uses up drill bits.
