wiper/wiper motor question 200 1986

In the last couple of days we've been drenched in New England. I've noticed that sometimes my wipers seem week and sort of skip across the windsheild. Other times they seem fine. Is this indicative of a tired wiper motor? And if so are there two that I need to replace or just one? How easy is the process? Thanks.

Only 1 motor. Remove glovebox, disconect linkage (clip) and link arm. Raise hood, remove electrical conector, motor mounting bolts, pull out notor. It will be stuck to the dash with putty/sealer so may require some effort to free it.

Could be. Weak low speed wiping is a sign of a bad motor, in my experience.
