possibly the start of a big problem?86 240 dl 200

hey guys. i have a couple questions.
1) when i'm accelerating pretty fast, it sounds like something is bending in the rear of the car.. like metal bending but it sounds like a floor twisting or something..am i screwed? could it be anything in the drivetrain?

2)how do you modify the air intake so that you can put a cone filter on her?
i appriciate any answers alot

1) Rear trailing arm/torque rod bushings. Trailing arm bushings tend to go first, but the t.r. bushings might also be shot at this point.

2)I believe that Turbobricks (www.turbobricks.org) features an airbox mod. like this.

It might be as simple as worn rear suspension bushings. Consider checking those first. It's about time for them, if your car hasn't had them replaced yet.
