Does anyone knows about putting 17x7 "volans" 850 volvo wheels (or any other OEM volvo wheel) into 960?

Volvo changed the front end geometry of the 960 series for the 1995 model year, the wheel offset was increased from 25 to 43 mm. The 5 bolt 850 rims are a direct interchange.

Check the archive. I posted a similar question a few months back because I was looking for a scond set of wheels for my '93 940 Turbo. (I think 940 & 960 are the same wheels)

If I remember correctly, the front wheel drive cars have a different off-set, and maybe even a different lug pattern. What DOES fit are any 240, 700 or 900 series wheels. In my case, I need at least 15" because of the bigger brakes on my car. (not sure about yours)

In any event, search the archive. I'm just recalling from my failing memory. The folks who answered my quiry seemed to actually know what they were talking about.

If I remember correctly, the first two years of 850 production used a four bolt wheel. The five bolt 850 wheels are the same bolt pattern as the RWD cars. The RWD cars have 25mm offset, increased to 43mm in the 1995 model year 960. The FWD cars also use the 43mm offset. Use of the early RWD wheels with 25mm offset on the later cars with 43mm offset will compromising steering and handling qualites.
