well i pulled the non-functioning wiper motor & power lock from the rear hatch, a bit of trimming & a covered chunk of plywood, i now have a pair of 6x9's mounted and damn ! the wagon sounds good inside ! esp. w/ the cheap mp3/cd player in the lower dash spot.
the sucky part is the inability to see out the back window after 5 minutes on a dirt road or 2 days of rain & highway driving. i know friends who've had the same issues with their sport utilities (the tall, "roll my ass over going 'round a corner" type), fortuneatly for them, there are several manufacturers that make deflectors & wings to keep the window clear & smooth the airflow, any such thing for a 245 ?
i'd love to get my hands on a newer (91-93) style rear hatch, but i've yet to see a volvo at any wreckers around her under 18 years old.

iPd used to sell a wind deflector for the 240's but they stopped making them a few years ago. You'd probably have to custom-make something or find a used one, although the chances of that are slim.
