How to install stailess SS brake hoses 200

A long time ago i bought a set of braided stainless steel brake hoses off of Ebay.

They didn't come with instructions.

The ends don't make any sense. they look like those double end threaded barrel connectors like are used to connet two CATV cables together.

So, how in the world do I mount these brake lines into the Volvo calipers and hard brake lines?

    Zee:
What year is your 240? Did you get the correct hoses? Are you seeing rear or front? (don't think dirty, now). Front is usually male/male, rear is also male/male unless you have ABS, then male /female. We need more info to help you.
All the 5 240's I've done have been a POC.
    buena suerte,
    el Raidman.

It is an '86 244DL. Hoses are for the entire car.

What I really need is some photos to show you.

whoa now, the fronts are male/male? Don't you mean female/female? These hoses should be female at both ends, because the flare fittings of the hard lines are male.

I don't know about the ABS system tho.

      Greg

    Zee,
Are you sure they are not protective ends screwed in, to keep contanminants out and protect the threads? That would be my guess, without seeing them.
Or they could've sent you the wrong part, happened to me on ebay with brake pads. The SS brake lines replace the rubber ones, correct? That connection on the fender well can be a real PITA!! Soak good with PB, it will help lots.
    Good Luck...
    Chuck.

      Ya, sure.

I to one out and ended up with a fitting which would not fit into a caliper (old caliper, thankfully and not on the car!)

      >Or they could've sent you the wrong part

It happens. This was in original packaging which appeared unopened and labeled for 240 use. I could not locate themanufacturer on the web search I did.

Yes. and the last time I replaced some hoses, I needed to also find those retainer tabs which clamp the connections to the strut tube. Nobdy makes them, and Volvo dealer had, like, three (needed six)

Maybe it's just me but that's something I wouldn't buy from Ebay (sorry for the commentary).

Are they IPD's? Call for the instructions.

Basically it's pretty straightforward, R&R - they match perfectly the existing black rubber units, flush and bleed.

I'm not getting a good mental image from your description, but they should be a slam dunk replacement - all the 240/260's I've done were too easy.
