    Best repair manual for 93 940T 900

I have a 940T and my brother has a 740, the Haynes 940 manual is about half the thickness of the 740 manual...

But remember that they are very similar cars!

I would uggest if you go haynes buy both! ( I also have a haynes for an 850 - boy can u see a family resemblance!)

Basically haynes are ok, but I think the 940 manual sucks compaired to the Haynes I have had for previous cars...

There is a Hanes manual for the 940 printed in England which I use a supplement to the FAQs. The manual is available from most of the online Volvo parts suppliers for about $28.

Unfortunately, the only really good books for your Volvo are the Volvo green manuals, which are really quite expensive. However, they are VERY good. If you plan on doing a lot of work on the car yourself, they are an excellent investment.

I agree. The FAQ and this forum have been an invaluable resource for me. (and I've only had my brick for about 5 months) But I'd also like a manual.

Does anyone know if Haynes made a one for the 700 & 900 cars? I know that many people don't think much of Haynes manuals, but I've had one for every car I've ever owned, and I'm kinda used to them. And hell, ANYTHING is better than my Chilton's!

The Chilton manual SUCKS for our cars. (I have a '93 940T Wagon) They combine the manual for the 240, 740, 850, 940, 960 plus the new designations (70 & 90 I think). When I thumbed through the book before buying it, I saw lots of detailed illustrations and photos -- and thought, "Great!"
The problem is, when I really need an illustration to clarify something, they always seem to be for one of the other models.

At least that's been my experience.

I bought the Chiltons as well and it sucks in my opinion. I wish Bentley made a manual for our cars, hell if they had one for 740s I would buy it. I have one from them for my saab 900 and its great. I think for our purpose the best would be the factory manuals but those of course cost an arm and a leg. Can we petition bentley to make one for our cars?
