Would like any knowledgeable answers as there are so many choices.

I would go for the 0-30 for an easy cold start what about 20-50

What about ATF fluid which one for thr AW41 Tranny?

How much of each, gallons?

Where would you buy it.

OW-30 sounds fine if you live in the Falls Church area, however what do the experts recommend for my '94 940 turbo (with 62K) which lives in Florida, where we are just at the beginning of our warm weather, it is now getting into the mid 90's every day and will be like this for at least the next four or five months. The Owners Manual specifies 15-W40 for temps in this temperature range.

I'm not a tribologist, but have picked up some info over the past 25 years.
The book is referring to non-synthetic when they recommend 15W-40. AMSOIL 0W-30 is a 30 at operating temperature and will provide better protection than any non-synthetic xW-40. I have a number of friends living in Florida, all running the 0W-30 in everything they own.

But, if you want 15W-40, AMSOIL has that too.

I recommend using a good engine flush before changing. If you don't, or won't, flush, then watch for any sign of increased oil consumption. If you see this, change the filter and top off. If you don't flush, it might be prudent to change the first batch after 3-4,000 miles, because it will clean.

I use AMSOIL 0W-30 in all my cars. Yep, costs me about $10 a year more, per car, than the 5W-30 or 10W-30. Get at least a couple of quarts extra when you buy.
Changing the ATF will take the better part of a case of 12 qts. If you have some left over, you can change the power steering fluid.

Where do you purchase? Any online stores that you like? Also are you saying that the Amsoil ATF would work in the power streering box?

0-30 will be my choice. What brand of oil filter do you use? I have been using Mann, omly because IPD was so high on it.

I'm an AMSOIL dealer (have been for 25 years) and purchase direct from the company. The only on-line store which sells AMSOIL is AMSOIL itself (far as I know) www.amsoil.com. If you go there, you can order direct, either retail or wholesale (by becoming a preferred customer or dealer--which costs you $10 for a 6 month trial, and you save more than that on a case of transmission fluid?.
In any case, feel free to use Customer number 515729 (Paul Seminara's) or 24558 (mine).

Volvo says to use ATF in the power steering, so you can use the AMSOIL ATF.
You can change that by pulling out what is in the reservoir, filling with fresh. Run a while, and repeat the operation. Repeat, and most will now be synthetic. I find that some easier than disconnecting lines, having something break, and fluid flying all over the place.

I use AMSOIL oil filters. They do a better job, important when you are extending the drain. If I couldn't get AMSOIL filters, I'd most likely use the Mobil 1 filters, which are very nearly as good. Yep, they cost a bit more.

Use either 0W-30 or 5W-30 for normal driving, 10-30 if you do only long trips. Either Amsoil or Redline is fine (incoming rounds from Seminara and Dick from FC!!! Hit the deck!) or use Mobil 1: not as good but less expensive. DO NOT use 20-50, 15-40, 5W-50 or others in thicker grades.

Tranny: buy the Dexron-compatible ATF. Mobil makes a good product as do both Amsoil and Redline.

You mentioned Mobil 1 not as good, is this from experince or specs numbers, I'm using Mobil 1 10w30. Wont mind switching to redline or amsoil.

Mobil reformulated their oil to the Tri-Synthetic a few years back, shortly after the merger with Exxon. According to a retired employee, the reformulation included some considerable cost-engineering, using the Exxon technologies and chemistry. As a result, at least in some test areas, the newer Mobil 1 did not stack up as well as previously. Doesn't mean it isn't a fine oil.
When comparing the specs between AMSOIL and Mobil 1, AMSOIL comes out a bit ahead in most categories--and way ahead in recommended service life.
