Ignition Coil hooked up backwards..... does it even matter? 200

I was doing some stuff to my bertone and had to hook up a tach and when I hooked it up to the + terminal on the coil I wasn't getting any signal so I hooked it up to the - terminal and low and behold I got a signal... not concerned but a little currious if it really matters which direction it is hooked up in.

That is correct. + side stays constant at 12 volts and - side receives the negative going pulses from the power stage to "fire" the coil. - side is where the pulses for the tach should be.

So Gabo I'm at the nearest pick-n-pull. More Volvos in the parking lot than in the yard. That didn't matter (there for a Camry instrument cluster w/ tach.. no new wiring required!). And behold a car that should have been yours.

Nice bright red 245... cept.. there wasn't much red left. Chrome along the rocker panels, all over the tailgate, limo tint, chrome'd dual blade wiper arms, and of course the obligitory sticker explaining in plain English that they were the coolest car on the road (decent sounding stereo too).

Pimping a 262 is just far too easy. It's already chopped!@#!@ and it's already got the vinyl roof. Geez. You need a challenge.

        - alex
