Sway Bar Link: Torque 900

Does anyone have the torque specs for the sway bar link on my '93 940 Turbo Wagon? (link to control arm)

And how do I know how far to tighten the sway bar end of the link?

(Once again, my Chilton's manual has left me hanging.) But here's the good news: One of my kitchen table legs is about an inch short, and the Chilton's manual does a superb job at correcting that!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am not sure on the control arm side, but on the sway bar side there is not a torque value.

Haynes says to tighten until the outside distance between the two washers is 42mm. That is what I did and it seems fine.

I would snug the lower bolt good. On the upper, follow IPDs advice and do not mash the bushings so they look like they are bulging out of the cups. Other than that, you are too finicky with torques and all. If you leave it too loose, you will hear and feel it. Too tight and the end link can break which I think is where your post started?

No one can be told what the IPD is... (oh wait, wrong movie..)

www.ipdusa.com ... they're an aftermarket performance parts place for Volvos...

I hope this doesn't mean you're going to have to kill me!

If anyone asks, we never had this conversation.

Thanks,
