'93 940 'ABS' dash light behavior

I've got a '93 940 with the Yazaki instrument panel. I'm in the process of adding the "Low Coolant" circuit that the 960s had, as described in the 700/900 FAQ. Everything seems straightforward, but when testing the new light (lamp position 8 from passenger side, icon of an engine melting down), I couldn't get it to come on. I tried directly grounding the appropriate trace from the lamp, and it still would not come on. Diving deeper, I couldn't find battery voltage on the appropriate side of the lamp socket. Moving backward along the circuit trace, I find the next lamp, the 'ABS' light, also has no voltage. After this point the circuit trace runs under a plastic clip, and on to the 'Parking Brake' light, which does have voltage and does light. Seems to me I have a break in the cheesy printed circuit. I jumpered from the 'Park' lamp +12V side to the new lamp and both the new lamp and the 'ABS' lamp then lit.

I just want to verify for sure that the ABS warning light is supposed to come on at startup with the other assorted lamps, and then go off. If so, I guess I'll be installing a jumper here. Good thing I took on this project, or I'd have never known my ABS warning light was AWOL.

Yep, if the ABS light goes off after you start the car then it's working right.
