I used to take my 90 740 GLE to Voltek in Denver but since moving to Pittsburgh last summer I've been using Bill Grey Volvo...they seem OK but get confused while working on a 12 year old car. Can anyone recommend any good Volvo shops in the Pittsburgh area? I do a lot of stuff myself but there are times when I want someone with more experience (and tools!)

Up Rte. 65 North in Baden, PA (near Sewickley) is Bob's Import Car Service.

I used them for years to service my '78 244DL. In Sewickley, there is a Volvo dealer, whose name I forget.

You also may want to talk to Chuck Horner down at Bill Gray. He's a Tech that runs a shop out of his house on weekends. When I was converting my AW71 to M47
Benny suggested that I talk to Chuck. Got it done somewhere else due to time limitations. Chuck gave me that please no look when Benny said it. Benny didn't want to do it due to the time involved.

There is Beverly service on Beverly Road in MtLebanon. They work on Volvos.
Never used them but never heard anything bad. I wouldn't recommend anyone else in the South Hills. I used Star in Greensburg for anything that is going to take time or is involved. Bill Gray is to busy for anything that will take more than 1-2 hours.

Thanks Al, I tried the shop on Beverly in Mt. Lebanon but could not get in for an appointment for an annual inspection. I do hear good things about them. Was wondering about Manage My Car in Castle Shannon. Also, this weekened, I passed by a shop on Bower Hill/Painters Run that claims to specialize in Volvo...any experiences?

Manage my car may be ok but the one on Painters Run I was told to stay away from.
