I agree with Jeff Daigle's post. Get some lower profile tires and the ipd sport springs (or equivalent if you don't want to pay ipd prices) and you will lower it about 1.5". That will give you a flatter ride and will keep your exhaust system and oil pan on the car.

I think someone said the B+G springs from shox.com lowered their car about 2 inches, even though they’re only listed at 1.6”. Combine that with some lower profile tires, and maybe you could hit that 3” mark? Get a body kit, some firm shocks, maybe tuck the exhaust up a little, and I bet you’d have one mean looking, more or less functional brick :-)

Lowering your car that much will sacrifice too much of the handling characteristics to be useful. Granted, it may *look* cool, but only when sitting in the parking lot. Cars don't look cool bouncing down the road like they have no suspension at all, nor do they look cool going 0.25 mph over speedbumps and up slight inclines.

Get the iPd coils, a set of bilsteins, anti-sway bars, a nice set of 16-17" rims/tires, and call it a weekend. Not only will the car look good, but you'll be able to take that pesky 25-mph offramp at 90ish.

Cheers.

I have worn out springs in the rear. I was thinking about getting new ones to rid the powerboat driving position it has now.

I can sell them to you once I get the new rear springs.

Then all you'll need is a set of worn out fronts to complete your mod!

I have a friend here in the atlanta area who's 740 is already lower than that. It has a harsh ride but does look cool.

3'=a lot of work 700

IPD (www.ipdusa.com) sells very good lowering springs, but they'll only take you down about 1.5", which in all honesty might be enough for you, esp. if you plan on installing a ground effects kit which will make the car look lower. Taking it any lower than the IPD springs go will require substantial mods, like different shocks so you won't bottom out, possibly re-routing the exhaust so you don't kill it on every pothole, etc. If I were you I'd get the IPD springs, then go someplace like www.brickstylz.com and get some side skirts & a front spoiler etc. to make it look even lower. Better ride, better looks, less work.

Let the air out of the tires. Should do the trick, and be just as useful as a suspension modification.

even lower! 700

flat tires are low, but to go even lower, have them removed from the rims.

even better, remove the rims!

I have an idea so the car still moves and still is really low. get some of those "cool" 6-7" rims that you see on those cars w/ hydraulics and stuff.

Great post! 700

My wife's car had IPD lowering springs on it when we bought the car. After she DESTROYED the oil pan driving over a small piece of broken concrete in the street. After replacing the oil pan in place, I bought a set of regular spring and installed them.

My son knows some teenagers who are great into coil cutting on their Hondas. It is easly to spot those cars by the way they ride.
