IPD overload springs= Rough Ride ??? 200 1993

Have access to a free set of IPD overload springs to switch into my 93 245.I'll be doing the work myself...this should be OK for loaded travel, but what about daily driving? should I get set to redo my teeth weekly from the jarring? Or are they OK and just give a FIRM unloaded ride?
Have new poly bushings kit,new KYB shocks in rear.
Any thaoughts?
gracias,
el Raidman

I put the overloads in my '89 244.
No problem, the ride feels very much the same.
I bet the poly bushings would create a harder ride then the spring change

Oh, the passenger side......unbolt the two bolts that hold the piece on the break caliper that helps you leverage in the brake pad pins. That will make room for you to spin the coil spring up and in.

Over big bumps, the car will seem a bit more rough. HOWEVER, they actually help the ride on regular roads (which you'll be driving on mostly anyway). I've had them on my old 244 and now on my 744 and I highly recommend them.

Actually that combo on the 245 can be muy malo. Pretty darn harsh on rough roads, and I like firm rides. I kept the overload springs and went with Boge shocks - ride is now perfect.

Now I must admit my overload springs were generics NOT IPD's.

You will get a little more "bounce" when empty-but it will be fine esp with your KYBs. Be prepared for that passenger side installing the spring-the exhaust pipe gets in the way-I had to "unscrew" the old one against the exhaust pipe and then drop it in over the top to install and "screw it down" on the pipe -if you can get the muffler out of the rear hangers first will be much easier to push the pipe out of the way.. I didn't think of that until after I was finished--I never claim to be very smart--and it shows.. :o(.

I purchased Boge Turbo Gas, and the IPD overlod springs over a year ago. I got a 93 waggon. I think the ride is TIGHT not rough... I have heavy duty swaybars also. I have a tool Box in the back of my Volvo, weighs about 80 pounds. so I guess that is not much of a load.
Don't listen to paul, he frightens me. I think he come to my house at night and messes with my car.
Did you notice he has a small child growing out of the back of his head in his picture... Yep , he is an alien, I am sure of it. I even asked Art Bell....
