On-line parts houses 700 1987

I just received my first order through FCP Groton about 10 minutes ago. I live in South-Central Kentucky and FCP is in Conneticutt. I was expecting delivery 7/1/02. Because money is tight just now, I ordered the generic ignition module for $35 and an OEM impulse sender for $68.
If I had gone through Advance Auto Parts or NAPA, the module would have been $144 and the sender $168 - and both would have been Wells brand.
Nick Bauer was my contact person and I will highly recommend FCP Groton not only for speed or low price, but for asking plenty of questions to ensure we were talking about the same parts.
Gotta go and get old Blue running again.

online ordering is a godsend that has made it much more cost-effective to care for cars. fcp groton is a good source for some major parts. other etailers I've used with good experience that have RIDICULOUSLY low prices on top-end parts include:

http://www.importeccatalog.com (my etailer of choice)
http://www.alloemvolvoparts.com
http://www.thepartsbin.com

BTW, the three above offer free UPS ground on orders over $50, and they generally arrive in 2 days (I've never had an importec order not arrive on the second day after i ordered). I've also never had a mix-up or a problem from any of the above.

I have had delivery problems from thepartsbin/alloem.coms

The parts get shipped from different warehouses and arrive in stages over time. It is getting hard to count on doing a job on a certain weekend because I never seem to get all the parts at once, nor in time.

I told them so after my last order for a bearing, seal and gasket needed to do an output shaft bushing on my AW-70 transmission came in two deliveries spread over 5 days!

Got an impersonal "Gee, that's too bad" sort of reply.

Moral: Order way early, or shop somewhere else.

(FCPGroton didn't have those parts for me, BTW)

yeah, I've had teh same problems with them. That's why I order from importec. They have never, to date, failed to deliver my order in 2 days. I mean free shipping and it ALWAYS arrives the second afternoon after the day I ordered, simply great.

FCP Groton is great. I've had order mixups before, mostly due to a funky online ordering system (you can't check shipping charges without submitting the order.. it actually submits it before you press the finalize link... so I ended up submitting an order 3 times, oops!) but they were great when I called, and fixed everything right up!

I'm not sure who I speak to but I think it's Nick also.

2 thumbs up for FCP.
