SRS light and warm A/C 900

hello all and thank you in advance
the vehicle in question is my fiance's 94 940 b230 140k miles w/ecc climate control it leads a pretty rough life delivering pizza.
The SRS light has been coming and going for some time now. I've never read the error code(s) nor have I really looked into it. When you start the car sometimes the srs light goes off and sometimes it doesn't. The kicker is that when the srs light doesn't go off the a/c won't blow cold either. when the light goes off the a/c will freeze you out. (uuuuhhh????)

what's the corelation between the srs light and a warm a/c?
also where can I find info on how to read the srs code? the chilton's manual has a whole half page section that's says leave it to a trained technician, that's no fun.

thanks in advance
-Nate

SRS light and warm A/C 900

Could be as simple as a worn ignition switch. My '91 760 started giving me an SRS light and about half the electricals wouldn't operate (A/C included). I happened to notice that if I moved the key slightly back toward the "off" position, the SRS light went off and all the electricals came on. I've been living with it that way ever since (bit of a pain to get the key switch replaced).

You can find information on the SRS codes in the 740 FAQ. The FAQ is a pop under "Features" on the main page.

I have no idea, pn the correlation between the light and the A/C, except that you may have some loose or corroded connection(s) someplace in the wiring.

Good luck.

Check fuse 16 and it's wiring.

I typed this once and lost it

The A/C Quit in my daughter's 94 940 (we have 2)

#16 fuse socket was burnt up. I cut the burnt lug off of the supply wire and spliced in a new in-line 30A fuse.

The A/C worked fine but the Radio and horn quit and the SRS lite came on/

I went to a Junk yard and tore into a fuse block that also had a bad #16 fuse socket. There is an internal jumper that powers #14 & #15 fuses from # 16. There is also an unfused wire from the hot side of #14 that powers the SRS system.

I ran my own jumper wire from the hot side of my new fuse to the hot side of #15. Everything works and the SRS light is out.

If this doesn't make sense eMail me and I'll send pictures.

PS
From my informal junk yard survey. the most common burnt fuse sockets for 740's and 940s are #1, #10 and#16
