Question for DE.Sweden , , Crankshaft bearings 120-130

Is there a bearing that will fit a B20F crank that is offset ground (from 54mm) to 45mm (connecting rod journal)? thanks in advance..

Hello Ozzi! Yes you use the b230 bearings(49mm,not 45).
The b230 cranks journals isīnt as wide as the older crank you may have to make(depending wich piston you use)washers as support in the small end.
This is quite easy to do, make washers that fits well on the piston bolt and then grind them to a clearance about 0,10mm.
Itīs easiest to adjust the clearance by hand with some sandpaper on a flat surface, a bit time consuming but itīs esier to have control over how much material you remove.
Hope this answer helps.

DE,

Great thanks! Have you done this mod on the B20 with an 85 mm stroke? Can I get bearings that are 45 mm ?

Hello Ozzi! It has been done in b20/21/23 and also in b230 using b21/23 cranks (thick washers has to be welded to the rear crank journal as the axial(is that the right word?)bearing is thinner in b230 engines).
The tricky bit is to get a piston with the right height, but this should not be a big problem.
But i dont know why you want 45mm bearings? the b230 journals is 49mm.

DE.Sweden.
