How much R134-a in an '88 240 w/ new-style evaporator core? 200

I'm trying to find the amount of refrigerant to be used and I haven't had any luck yet.

Anyone?

Thanks

-Steve

Factory retrofit manual sais "35.3 oz"
By the time you loose a little bleeding off the air out of the hose after connecting each can , 3 12oz cans works out about right

I would not use less than 3 (12 oz.=340 gms) cans. I also would not use more than 4 cans. If you want more significant figures, you might be trying too hard. Although there is an optimum amount of refrigerant for sure, I think you will be able to monitor temperature and system pressure after 3 cans and see if you should add all of the 4th. I would go 4.

Thanks.

I've probably got 3.25 cans in there right now and it's not as cold as I would like.

I will add part of another can and see what I can get going on.
