I can't seem to get the black square button to back in correctly. Can anyone tell me how to do this ?

Also...power window buttons are numbered for the front, #3 and #4...does anyone know which one is the front passenger and which one is the front drivers ?

Are they both suppossed to have two of the metal balls in the switch mechanism ? (I maybe missing one)

My experience in taking them apart is that you shine the copper contacts with scotch-brite, sometimes flop the copper contacts end for end, and they work fine. Taking them apart, just use your pocket knife to gently edge the plastic slots and dots over the moulded raised spots in the switch body. I put in the bottom with the copper rockers and such, then turn it upside down and balance the two balls on the springs while inserting it straight up. Once in a while I got to redo it to get it right, but all the switches work on my five bricks.
Switches from pick-your-junk are about 5 bucks and still may need the treatment, dealer is 5 to 6 times that.

tell ya the truth, i have never poped open my switches, althow if u are in the drivers seat, and have Working switches in the other doors just plug in a switch press down/up and see what ever window moves then plug it into the switch that u want to controle it :o)

I have read the FAQ for the 7 series and it doesnt tell how to put the buttons back in. When i say buttons, i mean the black square plastic piece you press down on to lower or raise the windows

It has been a while since I did mine, but I believe the button has two holes, and the switch has two posts, one on each side.

The button has 2 holes,which fit into the 2 little posts on either side..maybe they are broken off???
Switches are fairly cheap.
