B230 front crank seal. 700 1990

Help,
Has anyone got a B230 front crankshaft oil seal readily to hand, and can tell me what the numbers on it are (Volvo or aftermarket)
The actual Volvo part number is not what I need, it`s the other numbers which denote the size of the seal.
The reason for this is that I want to fit a double-lip seal instead of the standard single-lip and need the size to order one here in UK.
Thanks for any info, Colin.

The grey Volvo OEM crankshaft seal for B230F/T has no identifying numbers whatever on it. The red Elring aftermarket seal has the following:
    52 x 68 x 10
There is a lone "5" on the opposite side.

Let us know how you make out with a dual-lip seal.

      Steve,
I have now made the tools and fitted the double lip type seals. Obviously it is too early to report on the performance of these.
I have drawn up the tools I made to do this job and have been trying to e-mail the page to you for possible inclusion in the FAQ.
Unfortunately my browser refuses to operate the link to your e-mail address could you send your e-mail address to colin-shepherd@ntlworld.com and I will send it to you.
      Thanks, Colin.

Also I intend making insertion tools for both crank and cam/intermediate shafts
if these work OK I will post the details as this is not in the FAQ at present.
      Colin
