what is name of rubber bellow that connects under air intake to throttle body? I tore mine trying to get off to clean inside.I can't seem to find on online search @ FCP or where-do-I-go-other-than-dealership.could not find name of BULGING rubber piece in HAYNES so I'm hopeful someone can "name that part" and steer me to where I can buy online.THANKS IN ADVANCE,mark

From your description the part you are looking for is called a connecting pipe
by Volvo. I call it a boot, whatever, it's Volvo part number 1357088-2. This is
for a B21F K-jet injected motor. I'm sure FCP Groton or any other Volvo specialist can order you a new one. I'd seriously consider the used ones offered
below. New rubber parts are very expensive. They are worth it, but they
are bucks and good used is a great alternative to have.

If you strike out in your search for a replacement bellows, I have several used ones from various '82s. They should fit your '80. But first make a good faith effort to locate the part you need. Don't overlook the junkyards (good stuff cheap)...

Incidentally, reinstalling that stupid royal pita bellows boot hose is tricky. That is, it's easier with a trick...

Just for the sake of picking nits... Randy quoted Bentley and called it the "air intake boot". I was pointing out that the "intake hose" listed on the online catalogs was probably the "hose" from the air cleaner and not what he wanted.

BTW does your "trick" in replacing the said boot involve using a jack on the oil drain plug?? (grin)

I called it a boot, as it was identified to me by the legendary
Volvo guru on the far coast. Thus far I have not seemed to damage
it and it indeed was slimy inside.

I think you will find that the "air intake hose" available online is the one from the air cleaner.

Have you tried e-mailing or calling FCP Groton? Their web site lists a mere fraction of their inventory.
