I've got a '93 944T and I'm about to order a 3 row radiator. I've seen some places differentiate between turbo and non-turbo models, and some who say a 740 radiator or even a 240 will fit. Can anyone help me out and tell me wich models/years are directly compatable. This is starting to get annoying hearing different things from everyone i call.

Volvo recently sent me a price list for common parts. The radiator list for
740/940 has 8 different rows (!). Kind of messy...

4 cyl man excl B204FT w/o AC
4 cyl auto excl B204FT w/o AC
4 cyl man excl B204FT w/o AC, Tropic
4 cyl auto excl B204FT w/o AC, Tropic
1992- 4 cyl auto AC excl Turbo
1992- 4 cyl auto excl B204FT, AC, Turbo
1992- 4 cyl man excl B204FT AC, Turbo
1992- 4 cyl man, AC w/o Turbo

to do some comparisons.

I have a 93 945 manual, N/A with ECC and it took me four trips to three different Volvo dealers to get the right radiator and all parts needed.
When I had the right radiator they had still missed to sell me the rubber plug that goes in if you don't have the temperature sensor in the radiator.

I bet you could get away with one or two different radiators.

Manual v auto probably means Volvo's trying to get away with
selling cheaper radiators that don't have the autobox coolers
built in. The other possibly have different holes for the various
A/C, ECC, etc temp sensors.

Two weeks after I purchased a 91 940 SE wagon the upper hose connector broke off of the original radiator. The rest of it was just fine, but the plastic tank turned to brittle junk from heat. I purchased an after market one for about $160 that had metal tanks. I think/hope that it is much better. I wouldn't want another plastic tank.

I just ordered two (2) core nissens radiators from Groton for our 92 gl and 945T - the applications called for two different radiators.
