News to me. I thought all were built in Sweden. It's a 94 940 wagon. Common practice or unusual? It's definitely a US model.

Well, common. Halifax Volvo plant. There are a couple of plants in Sweden, in Belgium (Volvo Europe where the "flathood" turbos were made), and Canada etc, all origins are encoded in the ID plate.

And the S40 is made in The Netherlands.
