I believe I have a leak in my fuel line. The car starts up without any problems. After a couple of seconds the engine dies. I attempted to give it gas but it does not respond. When I press the gas pedal down even three quarters of the way the engine does not respond. Is fuel getting pumped?

I ran into this problem with my 240, ended up being the in-line fuel pump I believe. would have to double check.

but mine would start sometimes, and not others, and when it did start and you drove it felt like only 2 of the 4 cylinders were working...it was very sluggish. so this may not be your problem.

My 240 did the same thing...turned out to be the coolant temperature sensor. It was reading about 1500 ohms when it should have been reading about 3000 ohms. The car was burning very lean.

Make sure that the pipe to the AMM is connected and does not have any large leaks.

My 84 245 did the same thing, was just the relay, but I'm not a auto tech, so it's just an idea. HT

Sure sounds like the AMM is gone. Try unplugging the AMM and starting the car. If it idles fine, you need an AMM.
