Hello,
While having a stereo installed into my 240 sedan the vaccum tube on the ac control got broken. What can I do about this problem? I have a feeling that this is an issue with no easy remedy. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Love the site, keep up the good work!
Arhat

Arhat,
hmmmmmm, it's not a vaccume tube, it is a capillary tube, with a thermo-couple termination next to the evaporator.
This is supposed to sense temprature, and cycle the compressor on and off as needed for cooling.
The easiest fix would be run a switch directly to the compressor and manually turn it on and off as needed, but careful not to defeat the low pressure switch, don't want to run a compressor that's low on refridgerant.
The proper fix would be to replace this switch, the line runs down to the exaporator, and the sensor is taped to one of the a/c lines with that black gooey tape.
