Glass fuses, yes or no for my 240 200

Finally got this stupid leak fixed over my fusebox from a leaky windshield. This leak was a steady stream dripping directly on the fusebox. Now it is time to clean off all the corrosion on the fuse holders and install some new fuses. I know that IPD is selling some glass fuses, and I think I remember seeing some mixed reviews on the board on these glass fuses but can't remember what if any the problem was. I have purchased some pointed on the end glass buss fuses at the local auto parts. They are about 1/16 of an inch shorter than the old ceramic fuses, but I figure I can bend the one end of the fuse holder a touch to compensate. So what's the verdict, glass or ceramic?

A local guy who works almost entirely on vintage Volvos here (Salt Lake area) and the east coast says the glass ones don't make proper contact, and the ceramic ones do well if they are kept clean and free from corrosion and the fuse box is maintained properly. Incidentally, this guy is interesting. He used to be a physician, retired (I think he got tired of the stress) and works on Volvos at a rate he feels is comfortable, and has a yard full of vintage stuff - about 35 of 'em, including a couple of old step vans.

The glass fuses were highly touted for a long time. I never found them better or worse, except for the higher load ones. Those were worse (power windows). Other than that they seem to corrode a little less, although I feel that the ceramic ones are fine as well.
