Putty 900

At one time the dealer did some repairs {patches) on interior parts eg speaker grills, dome light lens, etc. This back putty like stuff did a nice job a holding things together without having to replace the part....

Does anyone know what this stuff is??

thankx

I think the stuff you're describing is called "dumdum". Seriously, no direspect intended. I think it's primarily used as some sort of insulation on the exterior of A/C pipes. On my 960 there's some of this putty on the pipe going from the receiver/drier into the firewall.
I've seen dealer techs use it to solve problems with rattles and to keep panels and trim together since it's sticky and pliable.

It might be what your friendly office supply store sells to hang posters etc.
