I would like to wire up my aux cooling fan to be on when the AC compressor is on. Is the single wire that heads into the AC compressor the signal wire that turns it on and off. If so, i plan to use it to fire a relay that will clos the fan power circuit.

Yes. Single wire at the compressor. Should be green. Or you could tap in at the pressure switch at the reciever/dryer. Thats where the compressor wire terminates
