Oil Dipstick Question 200 1993

What is the volume range marked on the Oil Dipstick (e.g. 1-4 quarts)?

In other words, if 1/4 of the imprinted area is dry, how much oil is needed to fill back to full?

The imprinted area is good for a quart. If it is all dry, 1 quart, half dry a pint low, etc.

As I recall the informative grid of the dipstick covers from 3 (bottom of grid) to 4 (top of grid) quarts. So if you drop off the dipstick you are between 1 and 2 qts low. Easy to check at oil change time.
