Transmission swap 200

I'm planning on changing an automatic over to a manual transmission in an 83 240 turbo, but I'm having some trouble determining all the various parts that are going to need to be changed. I would like to use the M47 5-speed. Is there anyone out there who has done this swap? I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me if the M47 will mate up to the B21FT motor. Also is the rear end any different then for an automatic? Drive shafts? Would it be much better to find an M46 4-speed/overdrive transmission instead?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Yes, the M46 is more plentiful and stronger than the M47 which was never used for turbo powered engines, at least not for long. You need the flywheel, clutch kit, pilot bearing, transmission, clutch pedal assembly (possibly the whole pedal assembly is easiest), shifter assembly and boot, OD wiring and relay (M46 only), the cable and fixings, possibly the crossmember and mount (although I have heard you just move the crossmember to another set of threaded holes) and the correct front half of the driveshaft (either M46 or M47). That is all I can think of now.

Dont forget the M47 uses an electronic speedo.
